this post has been long delayed... We, my officemates and I, went to Hanoi Vietnam for a short trip last July 14. I have only been with the company for 2 months at that time and it was really nice of them to count me in on the team trip. I never had the time to collect and edit the photos until now.. so here.. ta-dah! :)

All my life I stayed in the Philippines, never gone out of the country for a vacation or anything until I decided to move to Singapore to work. and now, It's really nice to have another country visited on my list.. and I really loved Vietnam! :) I love the place, I love the people, I sooo sooo soooo love their food!! and I love that I am a Millionaire in that place! hahaha! :D

I'm writing this post in two parts, for the first, I'll be telling about the city I saw and experienced. The city I have grown to love in a span of 3days and 2nights. haha! :D did I already told you I loved it there? haha! I really loved it there.. :D

Vietnam is a communist country. I'm not familiar on how that system goes.. but what I have observed is that they all live a simple life and they don't seem to mind or rant about it.. they all seem very happy or maybe they also have it in their culture to bring about happiness and fun out of the little that they have. all the people we have come across are helpful, hospitable, accommodating and just sincerely nice. :)
They have their own version of the Filipino Carinderia.. without the stalls...

Street vendors are commonly women. either they push carts, or ride bikes or carry stick thingy handles.. but they are commonly women..

As the tourist guide said, Vietnam consists of 4Million People and 3Million MOTORCYCLES!

Major roads are mostly decorated with mosaic art...

And It's very common to see beautiful women, all dressed up wearing high heels fashionably cruisin the city in their bikes! ;-)

Despite all the motorcycles swooshing around, People crossing from all directions and not even wide enough for 1 SUV... They hardly get any traffic. It's almost a miracle!

Now, Food........ Zet Ngon! in english: VERY DELICIOUS!!! :D

The hotel breakfast buffet was one of the reasons we wake up early during the trip! :) the names of the dishes were quite hard to remember... but I swear they're soooooo yummy!!!!

The hotel receptionist also recommended us to Pineapple restaurant which serves authentic Vietnamese dishes.. Yummy Yummy YUMMMEEEYYY!!! :D

While exploring the night market, we came across the Ladybird Restaurant. I went for the beef and mushroom stew in pottery pot (in english translation, the Vietnamese name was all a blur to me.. sorry.. ;p) It's like a better version of the Sinigang... It's the best Vietnamese dish I had during the trip... it's really delicious! :D

So that would be it for the first part... the 2nd part would take another to be posted.. ;p

frustration, boredom and home sickness are all starting to sink in. I am trying to fight the sadness and the loneliness but being alone in this robotic land of Singapore doesn't help much. It's also hard to not feel insecure when you don't get a call after so many applications sent. back home, my employer have bargained promotion and salary increase just so I won't go.. but here, nobody won't even schedule me for an interview.

Well, I guess it's true when they say that Great things are achieved with great efforts.

Now, I must figure out a way t distract myself from all the frustrating thoughts that are running on my mind and focus on God's promises to me.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Singapore.

And so my life in Singapore has begun.

I came last March 29, 6:30 pm. It was a long tearful flight, but my tears stayed in the airport.. once I got in the taxi cab, I felt the thrill and the excitement. It's a whole new world for me now, the beginning of the becoming of all my dreams. I have taken over my destiny, and THIS IS IT! :)

In this new life, I came like a blind man seeking his way into the world. I know nothing, I got nothing. I knew a few people but no one could really bring me to where I'm supposed to go to fulfill the purpose of why I came. but I have God. and He's got plans for me. I hold on to His promises cause His word is true. :)
